Title: First pink slip renewal
Post by: oztaffy on November 24, 2015, 12:50:10 PM
Hi all
when I had the car blue slipped last year I had auto electrician put some amber LED blinkers on the back of the bumper which I promptly removed, just wondering if for pink slip I need to have them put back on or if red blinkers are ok for pink?

cheers

Simon, I'm searching my memory here, but I think you can use a red rear blinker as long as you car has a build date of before 1st of July 1973.  After that, an amber blinker is required.  I think that's right - but I could be wrong...

I presume your car was fitted with red blinkers from factory and as long as it's (from memory) pre '73 model you will fine.
Maybe our illustrious forum mechanic can chime in... Chris from SMS Performance. (sms777)

Here I am!....... :thumb:
Bonnevista is correct. Amber rear indicators are NOT required if it was built before 1st of July 1973. If your car is the one on your avatar it looks like it's later model than 73. Be careful about removing them because you could get defected if you come accross with a coper that knows his cars.

Just did some digging from VIN and body number and searched online, found out it was manufactured October 14 1972 so should be sweet to keep the red blinkers happy days, thanks again for the info guys
