Title: Whats the best way to clean this?
Post by: mattlea1 on May 27, 2010, 09:02:56 PM
I just bought an Edelbrock manifold that has been bead blasted. It looks good but feels very gritty, what is the best way to thoroughly clean it?
I remember a mate bead blasted a manifold on a 253 Holden engine years ago and when bolted back on the engine lasted about 5mins when it died and upon strip down the remnants of the bead blasting had gone through the engine.

Good  soaking & wash in about 5lt of prepsol then a wash down in another bucket/tray of clean/new prepsol should do the trick.

Or a kero bath depends what you want to do with it re painting it or just leaving it.
