I know a guy in northern NSW that just told me that an older local man is selling an old Holden with a set of NSW registered plates, Bicentennial issue with GTO-700 number.
Let me know if anyone is interested in the plates, I'll pass an email address onto you for my friend.

I dont think u can transfer them to anyone other than family????
-
You have to transfer ownership of the vehicle with the plates attached to own them.....sorry...I should say: To own the rights to display them. You can then transfer the plates to another vehicle that's in your name. Then you can sell the vehicle back to the previous owner with your old plates. Simple.......What do you reckon? Every transaction carries stamp duty. What a bunch of suckers we are living in NSW......

Yep, thats about right.....you buy the vehicle, store the plates, then sell the vehicle on if you don't want it.....the only way to get those plates.
-
that's so dumb... there should be a different register of plates and transfers thereof - what kind of stupid system do we have?

It's called a money grabbing system
