I have been thinking of buying a Strange 9 inch centre 3.5 31 spline whilst US$ is low and wanted to see if any of the upgrades offered below would be worth including? I was already going to get the polished chrome moly yoke. Anyones input appreciated....except maybe Bonnevista :lol:

PRF170P Strange 9” polished LW aluminum center section- fully assembled with nodular iron posi-unit, aluminum street
support, 3.50-6.50 standard gear set and S-Series yoke.


OPRF07 Upgrade- chrome-moly yoke... $35.51
OPRF09 Upgrade- Tractech 28, 31 or 35-spline (Detroit)
locker or Truetrac... $171ºº
OPRF11 Upgrade- 35-spl. billet Lenco locker... $350ºº
OPRF14 Upgrade- billet half posi-unit... $27.10
OPRF15 Upgrade- Strange NASCAR gear... $125ºº
OPRF35 Upgrade- polished chrome-moly yoke
(requires upgrade OPRF07)... $66ºº

Pete i just bought a 28 spline detroit locker 9 inch  centre , i rang peter from sydney mustangs and could you believe it he had a complete 9 inch from a mustang which will fit my car without modification so i snaped it up , its at chris sinclairs now he is going to strip it and send it out to get sand blasted and powder coated , so not long now for my 9 inch diff........................................sharon can't wait :zip: :lol:

Its for a future project with an aluminium housing so no point in cutting corners on the centre.....your only going to see it if you bend over.....not sure what motor but possible late model Ford stating that they are 500hp (but not sure what to believe)

Decided to go ahead with just the following with 31 spline 3.5:1 ratio.

I have no probs with driving a locker on the street.
I am about to get power steer put on my '60 Ponti though.
I think it's just cause I am getting soft!!
But I have had the locker for about 10 years with no dramas.
It has copped plenty of grief with my left foot.

I ended up going with Tru trac....should be on its way from Strange in next week or so....they were waiting on polished housings....my new housing and axles arrived this week from Victoria....just need to source brakes but no hurry.
