What does it say on the rear quarter panel??
California Special, it's a limited run car only made in 1968.
It got, Shelby side scoops, Shelby Convertible rear fender extensions and wing, Shelby driving lights and hood pins, Deluxe bonnet, stripes, pop open gas cap, Thunderbird rear lights as used on the 68-70 Shelbys too) and then any options available for that year, were available on the car from a straight 6 to a 428 cobra jet.

I believe so, it was restored by 2 Mustang Club of America gold judges.
-
1968 California Special - be sure to wear some flowers in your hair.
-
I've already got the weeds! Did I say that?
-
Are they Cougar tail lights like the Elenore? they must be part of the package also.
-
I saw one of those California specials parked down Maroubra last year. Didn't look as nice as yours though.

Very nice Mrs Bee! Certainly a unique vehicle.
FE big block in an early Mustang....stump pulling torque.

Congrats on the new machine
and a big block as well ( wow ) the only thing missing is 871 supercharger
-
They are listed on some Shelby registers, but they also have their own registry (www.californiaspecial.com).
I think the import approval will be complete in about a week, so from there it is just waiting for the container to fill, shipping times, clearance etc. I'd say 8 weeks (3 on the actual water)?
Thanks for the great feedback! Lisa is stoked.
P.S. Joe, the Elenor lights are from the 67 Shelby, mine (oops, Lisa's!) are from the 65 Thunderbird and also used on the 68,69 and 70 Shelby
