OK. I just got my tail light lenses back from David Azzipardi in Minto having had the oranage sections for the indicators fitted.
In my case, for a '76 T/A, but my query could apply to any car.
The gaskets between the lenses and the "buckets" are quite hard and there also appears to have been a gasket of some type around the 4 circular holes in the body on each side.
Naturally, I want the whole assembly to be watertight.
Is there a product, like silicon sealer, that I can use to keep the water out, but that does not set to allow the tailights to be removed at any point in the future??
Thanks,
Jason.

You may also need to fabricate a blanking piece to separate the indicator from the tail lights...otherwise, the lights will leak over and show amber when you put your foot on the brake, and VV. I usually make them from thin sheet gal, with a couple of little tabs to locate them, then urethane or epoxy them into position.
You can see the piece here in my 71's lights.

Thanks Leigh, David did mention I should put something in to separate the orange from the red. I was working my way through 2L of icecream to get the flat plastic sections I need! Thin gal you say? That sounds more permanent. I'll have a look about work to see what I can find..

I put alloy in the middle of mine.

Not sure what mine is like behind the lense but the colours don't interfere with each other...
The standard lights flash red? Yeah?
Are you doing this for rego?

Red rear indicators are permitted up to 1973. After that, they have to be amber.

Hi Bale9,
The website is back on line. Check out www.tailights.com (http://www.tailights.com)
David is in Minto NSW. There is no option, you'll have to get your tail lights modified the same way.
I'm currently making a template for the piece to separate the orange from amber, if interested, I can send it to you.
