That day 4 years ago we first met up with the AMCCA. Maureen and Owen convinced us to join the club and we have made so many friends and had heaps of good times since.

Rod it is one ticket per membership the ticket covers entries for the car and the driver your partner will not be covered sorry.

Cool, I didn't know exactly how it worked. Could you save her a ticket as she will become a member as well and I'll pay the membership before the day, probably at the monthly meeting night and will also drop off the membership form.

Rod they are not tickets as such they are stickers for the car hence you get entry for one car and the driver Unless you have two cars they are still no good to you my friend

The meeting point for Sunday will be the Eastbound McDonalds at 7:30am to receive your window stickers then we will depart at 7:45 sharp as the gates close at 8:30 and all Pit straight car club corral participants must be in place before the event opens to the public. All vehicles MUST remain in place until the event closes to the public.
Ps I have searched everywhere for details on the closing time but I can not find it posted anywhere Sorry.

Please make sure you are not late in the morning as we are cutting it fine timing wise and we will NOT be able to hang around.
The meeting point for the morning will be the Eastbound McDonalds on the M4 at 7:30am to receive your window stickers then we will depart at 7:45 sharp we need to enter from Reservoir road on to the eastern end of Peter Brock drive as the access to Peter brock drive from the roundabout on Brabham drive will be closed on the day the gates close at 8:30 and all Pit straight car club corral participants MUST be in place before the event opens to the public. All vehicles MUST remain in place until the event closes to the public at 6:00pm.

Wow!what an up and down day we have had,after qualifying on pole and being around 3 seconds faster than the next fastest car a strange electrical gremlin caused the car to start missing and backfiring in race one and I fell back to eleventh at one stage but with a lap to go it came good and I passed 5 or 6 cars on the last lap to claw back to fifth so after changing the ignition module and coil we thought we would be good for race 2?WRONG bugger me if it did the same thing only this time it did not come good but I was still managing to hold on to Third place so I just pushed on regardless and held on for third(It was definitely like driving with one arm tied behind my back,Very frustrating!).Anyway the good news is we located the problem,just one little loose wire in the dissy and its perfect now so It's now up to me tomorrow and starting off the second row is not to bad so fingers crossed all our bad luck is done for this weekend.

Thanks everyone for an awesome fathers day. This is easily one of the best events of the year. We had a top day.
It's great to have access to all the garages and get up close to the race cars & the teams. Always some different restored race cars making it out every year.

Well after having the odd issue over the last couple of days,with our car,it was great to get it right on the day that mattered most and what a great day we got with the weather.Awesome!!
With our EBay purchased gearbox being installed Friday arvo after the blow up of our rebuilt Phillip Island box in first practice it was a struggle to get the car off the line cleanly,first was just too low, so my poor starts made for some lively passing manoeuvres particularly in the first few corners but we got through cleanly and held on for the win in both races(The ex Geoghan Mustang was really not counted in the official results and I was given the first place trophy by the Appendix J Association but not the race promoters?Oh well).
Driving such a well presented and prepared car like the one I drove today makes my job a lot easier and a heap of fun as well but driving around with the enthusiastic support of my family and all my friends/fellow club members is a great buzz and don't know how many more times I,ll get to do this so believe me I am really savouring every moment behind the wheel these days.

:he: I have to agree with Col this is an awesome event and definitely one of my favourite of the year. Mr VP what can I say man you put on a great show today and we're all very proud of you. I look forward to next year and remember the Kiwis will be back next year and they always mix it up and make a great day of it.
