Hi Folks
Im just testing the water with an idea, is anyone interested in coming to a Skid Pan day at Eastern creek racetrack!
The cost is $2700 for up to 20 people, thats $135 each, its on the skid pan and includes an instructor if required, post your concerns here,
No you dont have to race your car, its on a polished wet skid curcuit and even the mrs can participate. Theres nothing to run into and the speed is controled. It would be a great driving aid and lets you test your skills.
So come on give it a go!;15
sounds like fun paul what day would it be on sat/sun?
I can drive like a hooligan and not burn my tyres away ;x
Im not sure Im just seeing if we can generate enough interest.
matt and I would both be interested in taking both of our cars if it was a sunday
sounds like a good fun day and some good video to be had to I'm in.
that sounds like fun
Sounds ok.
They do it at Oran Pk may be worth checking out.
Do you have to be fully licenced or can a L plater have a go.
David.
yea im up for it! sounds like alot of fun :)
Yes I'd enter my 19 yr old son for skill development.. if thats ok.. but driving a Honda CRV.. your call if you only are after US cars.
i did a skid pan day with street ford magazine a couple of years ago at oran park Ian Luff was our instructor it was really good.. definately worth it
I might be in on that! I did that same Luffy course in my work car so I want to do it in the vette... and I could probably claim it on tax!

Let him go in the Thunderbird, or better yet, the Turbo T/A!!!
If you haven't done this before, this is great fun. Believe it or not, I actually used to get paid to do this. I used to be an instructor at the NSW Police Driver Training facility in Goulburn, I was there for 2 years. The best part was getting to thrash a car that wasn't even yours - police cars are great for that sort of thing.
Hey Folks here is what they are saying, looking good! http://www.falcongtclubnsw.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5584
Im not a member of the GT club so I cant read it?
Basically they are saying its THUNDERBIRDS are GO! Iv asked some questions and should have an answer as to dates soon.

Excellent sounds great to me.
Hi Foks
I got an answer for the skid pan dates as follows.
Sundays and Saturdays are very popular at Eastern Creek as you would expect, the only dates we have available are:
Sunday Nov 22
Saturday Dec 5
Sunday Dec 6
Please can you advise if any of these dates are suitable and I can book the date.
Cheers PAull
Any Sunday for us is fine can organise 4-5 cars if numbers are low.
pretty sure the 5-6 Dec is the V8 supercars.
See if you can find out Dave.
And anyone else with as much input as possible.
4-6 Dec is the Homebush V8 supercars.
Any date is suitable to me.
Paul any date for me is fine (and dave please no greek jokes);x
but looks like will have to be 22nd nov v8's on other dates.

i think our big problem around those dates are people start having xmas party's
22nd should be ok, most xmas parties start from the following week?
Please put me down for two cars Paul you talked my wife in to it at the meeting tonight thanks.
;F
.
I'll be in for this. Hopefully I'll have a REAL car by then, but if not I'll take the 300C - or worse still - the wife's Landrover ;N

WHAT A FABULOUS DAY,,,despite the heat and the wind that came along late in the day, the day can only be called a great success. Congrats to Paul (Heven) for initiating the day, and thankyou to all concerned in ensuring the day turned out so well, Maureen for the catering, Luke for the BBQ, and a real big thanks to the members of this great club that turned up and made it a truly great day.
Driver awards : Ema and Leanne share the top honors, really putting on a great display showing that power is not really necessary in this kind of event. The guys in the big beasties sounded and looked great but not a match for the 4 cylinder jap mobiles.
A great day was had with a club that has it's members as the first priority.

you guys were sooooo lucky to be able to play in the water all day ,i was across the paddock at the Nostalgia drags NO water NO shade ,just plenty of heat and wind ..............at one stage we were putting ice in our pants ,standing in the esky,s and generally doing whatever we could to try and not overheat !
And what a fun day it was, Thanks to all for the comeratery and by the comments maybe a annual event in the making. Maureen overdid it with the food (im not complaining) and it was smiles all round, even the heros got twisted up. I had fun and thats all that matters.

How can you compare 30-40 year old rear drive V8s with a (4 cylinder) turbocharged all wheel drive WRX with around 200kws of power?..... :logic: it was a fun day not a competition

still not sideways even in the wet:coffee:
That's okay , there should be a OPSM store near you , they should be able to fix your vision impairment.
:fantastic: Is all I can say about our skid pan day.
Sorry to hear Les could not make it  hope you are feeling better soon.
Thanks to Owen for turning up early with the coffee and tea it was greatly appreciated :agree:
 To Hev for getting the ball rolling, Luke, Maureen and Garry on the HOT plate thanks for your
efforts in making the day a great success. :exact:
As for Leanne and Emma being the best on the day, I think having an all wheel drive on the day was
to their advantage.
Hope you all had as much fun as I did :exact:
Mal
What a great day pitty about the heat,,,Stay tuned for a cooler date for next year..:drink:
We have over 450 pics to to go through, and low and behold there is a fair amount of sideways in a lot of them:xmas:
Was great to see the girls have a great go,Leanne had done it before so cruised it in,Leslee and Emma both very nervous, but they both improved with each go,Emma by 2pm was looking the goods and chasing the handbrake turns well, although we all thought the wall was getting a kiss on her last run in reverse. It was James's doing not Emmas.
Hopfully the few that got a quick run at lunch will return next time for a full day,I know Liz will be.:boxing:
Thanks to Owen for bringing the esky with drinks and the kettle,Hev also for the drinks and quickshade,Maureen for organising the feast for all, then cooking the BBQ with Garry.
Thanks Hev for kicking it off.
And everyone coming along and chipping in .
See you all next time.

Corel software from memory. Dont start me on Corel sh*t.
Their
basic stuff is nice but their picture and video editing software is cr*p.
Hev, do you know how to zip files? I can send you a site that you can upload all the pictures of the event off of your computer, as long as they are zipped into one file, and it will then automatically send them to me via the server. (If you cant zip them you can only uplaod 5 pictures [files] at a time.)
They are videos.
Are they are .avi files or .wmv files?
Pictures now up on your website http://www.americanmusclecarsaustralia.com/gallery.htm
Video's of the day now edited and uploaded.
