By now you have seen me post many pics of my brother in law's pro street 69 Camaro this car has all the go fast bits you need (and probably some you don't) he runs an alloy 540ci witch puts out 850hp and 1200hp with the gas.
The car has the current trophy for the fastest street legal car in NZ with a time of 8.8 sec 1/4 mile here are some pics

The car reached a point where a decision had to be made.

(a) To sell the car - Motor and trans and buy a drag car.

OR

(b) keep this once in a lifetime Ride and make it a little moor streetable.
After months of serious thought Darren finally decided it was out with the 540ci 850hp and to make it "more streetable" in went a 468rat with a 671 blower an 850 cfm  Holly carb with 600hp and 8 to 1 compression.

Awsome joe, looks like the right choice was made ,love that tuff blower hangin out of  the bonnet look , i would love to know what a 8 sec pass feels like , looks like he is doing it easy

I am in love.......

Saw my dream car a few months ago in Unique Cars, a black blown big block rs ss camaro but had only just bought the 57.

If he ever decides to part with her I would be genuinely very interested.

Sorry, couldn't resist it.


What I like is that it's not over the top.  The blower is just sticking out enough.  Not one of those periscope looking units.

Also love the traditional bug catcher.

Nothin like a mean hungry RAT to scare away those little circus shetland ponies! YEEEEEEHAAAAW

I think I have a growing lump now!

I think 850hp is streetable (is that rear wheel or Flywheel?), as long as he keeps off the giggle juice! Whats the diff ratio, maybe he can put more streetable ratio in the diff??? If and when mine gets running its got 755bhp so its not that far behind and mines quite streetable! ALSO ask him if he wants to be in the exclusive RATPACK! That Camaro would go down nicely in my RatPackMuscle.com!

The carb is hidden in the scoop its a Don Garrlicks it's got that subtle look about it very cool.

The horsepower is at the flywheel on a dyno.
