I will book tomorrow for both days.... the best weekend run. I think the Friday night at Irish pub was popular as long as we can get transport back.

Hi everyone,

I have been in touch with some places up the Hunter in regards to getting us moved around on the friday night and not needing to rely on the unrealiable cabs up there.

I have booked for the time being a coaster bus to take us from Potters and drop us off for dinner and drinks then return and pick us up later & drop us back to bed.

I booked the bus but also have it penciled to just use a smaller Hi Ace van that seats about 16.

So when it's nearer we can finalise what vehicle to use after we find out who will be able to make it up for friday night.

The cost is much the same as the cabs last year and we wont need to be sitting around for an hour waiting at both ends.

Cheers

Luke

Just giving this one a kick along for anyone that may be wanting to attend,We know there are probably another 4-6 couples that  hope to make it.

Below is the link for Potters Brewery,Potters is a  Micro Brewery,Situated between Cessnock township and the Airport for those that know the area.

Have a look at there web site and there should be some familiar cars on the home page in the rolling pictures screen.

The costs and contact details are all in the first post in this thread.

Simply call them up,giving them the reference "AMCCA" they then inform me who has paid and your added onto the list and away we go.

Cheers

Hey Crew

Just needing to kick this one along as Id like to book our transport for the friday night by mid July.

Would those attending also like to give some feedback on the idea suggested by Peter to see what transport could be sorted to take us to the swap meet so we dont need to try and park our cars amongst the other thousand,or are most happy to take there own car, some feedback on this please.:feedback::feedback::feedback:

Also, some members are planning to have lunch at the Pub at Brooklyn  on the way up meeting at Thornleigh Maccas at 11am on the Friday everyone is free to come along.:drink:

Greg , there most probably won't be any kids , there will be some late nights and some serious drinking and some colourfull language , it is best advised kiddys stay home , both sharon and i put this weekend down every year as a kid free weekend.
Greg if 2 night is to hard to get away without tayla then you can stay the one night , saturday night , trust me , we had a great time last year, Im looking forward to the 10 person spa again :rol:  :shades:

Looks like Capercaillie are doing their Sweet Temptations again this weekend. If enough interest we could book again.

Saturday and Sunday
7th & 8th August
For those who can admit to having a sweet tooth you should mark either of the first two weekends in August in your diary to come to Capercaillie and enjoy our 'Sweet Temptations'.

Once again three of our sweeter style wines will be matched with a tasting plate of three deliciously indulgent desserts for only $10 per person.

Bookings are preferred for catering purposes but not essential. Phone 02 4990 2904. Tasting plates will be available throughout the day but will be limited.(http://im1.shutterfly.com/media/47a0d909b3127ccefaec40889f5700000030O00QasXDho5bsQe3nwI/cC/f%3D0/ps%3D50/r%3D0/rx%3D550/ry%3D400/)

Did we do this on the Saturday afternoon last time? I can arrange with them for say around 3.30 - 4.00pm so that lets us go to swap meet / have lunch / a few vineyards and there for dessert? don't want to disrupt any plans already made but can let them know that probably most of us will go. I can change the time if too early or late.

We did this last year on the Saturday, 2.30pm I think, but that was a bit of a rush with the swap meet, then the bbq & trying to get there on time. So 3.30 - 4.00pm suits Mal & I:feedback:

Can a few of you give some feedback,Id originally booked the bongo to pick us up at midnight.

Harrigans have a licence until 2am but close at the managers discretion.
I think from memory last year we left about 12ish.

Can we have some input should it stay at midnight or later.

Dinner is booked  for 7.45pm.

Really looking forward to going away, have had such a great time the previous years, this year should be just as good.

See you all on Friday arvo.

Wow, even better than last year, 22 people had a real ball and we're already booked in for next year.  Maureen, please thank Santa, although I think Santa was of dubious gender, but was much softer than last year and a moist beard too!

Swap meet saw almost everyone leaving with some great stuff, whilst Luke could barely shut his boot. Great afternoon starting with a bbq lunch, 3 sweet deserts and 3 sweet drops at Sweet Temptations and then late afternoon coffee on been bags at Mojo's, lots of fun. Finally another great dinner, with several clearing their lungs over Karaoke, no names for now!! Great brekkie today, followed by a top morning at hunter valley gardens (then to McGuigan's for some as a pit stop) and a super lunch at Tempus two.

Late checkout at two was very civilised and we took off at 2:30 for the trip home.  Thank you Luke for putting on a truly first class weekend (including organising the private bus for us to and from Harrigans on Friday night allowing us to all relax and have a safe night.

Hope to see you all and more again next year.

That was our 3rd year, and it was fantastic. Thanks to all that came along, what fun we had!. And the weather again was perfect.
Loved the swapmeet, got some lovely crystal goodies.
I think we might start up a sketching class as I know there's a prime shot of Luke laying on the moist grass. Now if we took the clothes off and left the bottles where they are, we could do something with that!.  I know that my shoes got a little moist walking across the wet grass in the mornings going for breakfast. And we had steamy moist breaths when we headed for our rooms late at night, Cooooollllll !!!!.

I'm glad everyone had a great time, thanks to Maureen who as always helps out, Peter for booking Sweet Temptations,Obviously everyone else for the laughs and making it such a great w/end,with everyone chipping in to do bits & pieces.

As for next year it should be the same w/end we just need to wait a few months to clarify the dates for the swap meet, with the organisers.  We will be in touch when the details come to hand....

Thanks again we had agreat time.

Cheers

Luke

Yep all grill, had to adjust the mirror to see who was driving. After leaving Thornleigh we hit the motorway where I unleashed all 500 HP only to find the pedal stayed to the metal. Had a very moist moment, luckily af
er some frantic moments coaxed the pedal to release.
After lunch Friday we headed down the old highway when out of the blue Daves mustang in the middle of the round about got moist in the carby. Chris was watching for oncoming traffic and looked back just in time to avoid another moist moment. After the Rockets Brakes had done their job the Rocket was rocking like a surf boat. On the motorway the old Rocket cruised at 120 easily.
Friday night I was too enthusiastic and ended up a little moist faced.
Thanks to Luke organising this event and to Maureen for her tireless work.
Nikki and I had a great weekend and the company was fantastic. Definately in for next year.
Cant wait for Christmas to sit on Santa's knee again.
