Also on the Saturday night the 3rd of July once again we will be having a Rock & Roll night in Waves Disco

Have just confirmed we are getting the Jim beam race cars there promotion GIRLS hopefully you will get a chance to get a photo of your car & the girls Also a guy is bringing along a 4 seats simulator that you can race V8 supercars or rally cars I think we might get a Chev V Ford V Chrysler battle going. We will have trophies for the beast Chev Ford Chrysler Dodge  Hot Rod & Bike. Once again this should be another great event.

Don't forget on the Saturday night we are having the Rock & Roll night at the waves nightclub this is a great night out with a Rock & Roll band, dancers entry is $17 or you can have a two course dinner & I think this is going to be around $30 per head if I could get some idea of #'s we can book tables also I have found at the resort across the road they have secure parking & I think accommodation is around  $120 for a cabin.

****************************

THE DETONATORS
Before Rock, there was Rockabilly, Blues and Rhythm n’ Blues. The Detonators, through their original songs, reinvent the styles that made the mid to late 50s such a vital time in music’s history. They play an era, not simply a genre. Australia's leading roots rockers release their fourth album/fifth release Top Night Out August 2007. The quartet’s original blend of blazing jump-rock blues is infused with the driving energy inherent in their heros’ music. Chuck Berry, Little Walter and Hound Dog Taylor are some of the influences that give this band their distinguished sound. Guitarist Paulie “The Kid” Bignell says playing authentically in such a stylistic manner is demanding. “With this style of music, even the tiniest mistake is really obvious. To come across well we have to play with exceptional precision; it’s not as easy as it sounds,” he says. Although their music is inspired by the 1950s era, Bignell argues that the songs have never been more relevant. “We sing about our experiences today,” Bignell says.

“The Detonators’ blazing jump-rock tunes are as slick as their teddy-boy quiffs ” - mX Newspaper.

JORDAN & THE ORIGINAL SIX
If a '59 Cadillac had strings being strummed by the ghost of Link Wray to an old Django Reinhardt melody on the radio as the car hurtled off the grand canyon, hitting a pile of double basses on impact, only then could you replicate the sordid tones that are ‘Jordan & the Original Six’. Analogies aside, the band can be best described as alternative, hot-rodded, Western Swing.

Jordan Colley is a gifted guitarist who has honed his skills in the fields of rockabilly, country, jazz and western swing. His abilities have led him to collaborate and perform with the artists and members of bands such as Noiseworks, the Ted Mulray Gang, The Radiators, members of the Brian Setzer Orchestra and Nekromantix, The Louisville Sluggers, The Nervous Wreckers and countless others. In December 2009 the band supported the USA's "Royal Crown Review" at the Metro Theatre in Sydney and had the whole room on their feet before the legends of Gangster Swing graced the stage. RCR's frontman Eddie Nichols said he dug the Original Six's style and even offered to provide a reference if ever required!

A young, yet entirely professional lineup, Jordan & the Original Six present a slick, and thoroughly enjoyable show every time they play.

Arrhhh - "modifying" Mustangs not "fixing" them? Remember Mick's talk on replicating Vs cloning - come on get it right .
I bet it was definitely worth the drive though - for the cars AND JB girls !!

Wish I could have made it

Well done all round..:drink: a local event thats worth traveling a few hundred Kms too.. they don't happen that often eh.. great venue, good food, good cause and PC press for car guys/girls. :drink:

One serious thing but.. something needs to evolve to get pedestrians off the overcrowded street sides.. being there is no level foot paths, and those bits that are are covered with spectator cars.  The event does attract and SHOULD continue to try to attract young families while we are still free to do it in this state.... and more then a few people using mobility devices were there too.. etc..  plus yung mums pushing strollers on the  road edges along side passing inattentive drivers emerging though a curved road island bend etc.. is going to reverse all the good in an instant if a serious accident happens ..

You can't protect people from themselves at times .. Perhaps if only that vacant lot next door could be made available (I'll offer to pay for the hire of it for next year if that helps)  .... or a manned crossing with SES lolly-pop men getting the majority across the road from the ovals parking area on the south west of Pioneer Rd.

Maybe its not a big deal overall.. just a thought.
... but again.. what a great local show.. most clubs realistically are envious.

Hi "Riviera Visual" and welcome to the forum.  Some nice shots you have taken there.

:thanks: for sharing them. :way:

Just an FYI gang,
More pictures of the day should be up in the next day or so.  We are just waiting for them to come in.  Some are in snail mail on CD's.  An event this big means lots of pics and too many to be sent into us via email.

Mind you if you have some please feel free to send them over.

 Sorry I missed it. Obviously, everybody had a great day judging from the comments.  300+ kays in the truck is a bit too much in one day. Was hoping to have another car finished but the parts didn't arrive in time. I did notice a Porker in the pics, if only I'd known. And, finally, not an umbrella, collapsible chair or Esky in sight. Lol. Eddie
