Title: Car required for TV commercial
Post by: cpu on September 09, 2010, 05:23:14 PM
Just got this email

Hi All,

Vantage has a client (major fashion label) looking for a BLUE classic convertible (1950/60s) for their catalogue shoot filming in Southern Sydney on either Thursday or Friday (16/17th) Sept, depending on the weather.

Car will not be driven in the shoot. Car will be needed all day. Fee will be around $550 for the day.

If you or someone you know has a car that might be suitable/available please email a picture or two and a contact phone number to – admin@vantagemanagement.com.au

Usually we would get a car from our catalogue but by chance all suitable cars are not able to do the job this time.

I sent them some photos of my car, even though they wanted a 50's/60's car, mines a ragtop and blue, so I thought I'd try my luck.

The client liked the car, so I got the job.

They shot it last Thursday at Garie beach, so it wasn't even that far to go.

Sportscraft - a mens & womens clothing line. It was just still photos, so I'm assuming it's for a catalogue.

The female model on their page is Christie Hinze.  She's their spokesperson and was there on the day.
For those of us old enough to remember, she's the granddaughter of the late Russ Hinze, former roads minister of Queensland in the Bjelke-Petersen government.  Russ was a gigantically huge bloke and as such his nick name was 'the colossus of roads'.

I actually got towed.  It was an early morning call and I couldn't get the time off work, so they sent a flat bed over and took it away.  I managed to go up there mid morning for a look.  Of course, I ate their food and drank their coffee while I was there.
When they were finished, the towey took it the barge back to my place.

The image has been reversed.  My wipers don't sweep that way and that mirror is on the left side.
