Finally, the wet weather has made Mick start on his Challenger, its only been about 4 years or so that its been sitting around waiting for this.
The 440 engine and gearbox have been removed, manifold and cam removed for replacement

Check back in 4 years time and you may see the finished product...:rol::rol:

Dont't feel bad about it, took me 10 years to restore my Challenger.
BTW....ever heard of a contraption called...Engine Stand? :rol: :bolt:
-
Engine stands are for girls!:bolt::gotya:
-
:hesaid::rol::rol::rol: Mick don't worry about getting your hands dirty while its Raining just Jump into the Challenger behind you im sure the WIPERS Work:drink: Besides its not a HEMI:lol::lol::lol:
-
Good to see you back on the tools.
-
Micks says truth is Im only doing cam, lifters and manifold on the old 440 and it would take me longer to get the other engine off the engine stand as it would to do the job plus its nice to sit down and work watching the V8s on the big screen as Im getting old! :hangloose:
-
Well he is back on the tools again! This is what Mick has been upto, after stripping the motor and rebuilding it, painting it etc its almost ready to go back in the Challenger, but only problem is the Challenger needs to be painted first. Oh well at least the motors nearly done! :zip:

Engine is looking good, but what the hell is that contraption on the top....
Do not call me if you want it tuned because I could be out of town...:rol:
All I can say is ....Good luck!
-
Ay, carumba! better watch out for low flying pigeons and Boeings...might get sucked into that thing...
-
Mick is yet to come up with a scoop option as these things will definatley come through the bonnet, he was thinking of maybe a modified WRX scoop or perhaps just to keep it American a Trans Am shaker as the Mopar shaker is to damm expensive :think:! As for tuning after owning 2 Ultra Tune franchises for over 20yrs I think we can handle that one! :shades:
-
:cool: Mick forget the Scoop just put an 871 under thoes Webbers [delortos or whatever you call them ] lol:bow::bow:
-
Fantastic Mick, its about time
But its not a HEMI !!!! :cry::cry:

Ok the truth has to come out!
Mick does not have the heart to cut a whole in the bonnet of the Challenger and fit a WRX Scoop :rol::rol: Nah not really the whole thing was a hoax as that manifold and carb setup is actually off the old Camaro Group NC race car and he used some trick photography to make it look sort of real :rol::rol:
but if you look hard you will see the distributor housing hole at the back of the manifold. But hey it got you all thinking WTH is he doing!
Here is a shot of the real thing (still in the works)
