One of my customers drove past a minute after it happened. He must have drifted accross the center line on a straight strech and collided almost head on with a large truck. The impact was so severe that it completely tore out the front axle of the truck. The right side front of the left hand Camaro was crushed to the windscreen. If he had a passenger, would have been killed.
Apparently  both drivers were walking around the mess looking OK. :fingers:

I had several phone calls and emails from friends to make sure I was ok  they were very concerned that it may have been my car.

Thought I'd reopen this old subject as I think I stumbled on the '68 Camaro involved in that head on. It was on a trailer at the side of the road at Bass Hill, but no one around to ask about it, so no details. The marking on the windscreen indicated the wreck may have picked up at auction. Very likely the one involved as not many red, black striped '68's around. Thanks for the advice with photobucket Joe and Yvette.
Cheers, Bob.

Just an update on this '68. It is now on Gumtree for $5500. Spoke to the owner/driver who advised it was the car on CVWay and the car has NOT been written off! When you consider a good Gen1 can cost $50-60k subject to condition, anyone who can handle a MAJOR project might have to spend around $20-30k to rebuild this? Would have to be someone skilled with MANY hours to spare? More photos/details Gumtree, automotive, Camaro, Bankstown area. Cheers Bob.

What'll save it is you can buy all the body structure and subframe new for that model.....but it'll be a huge job.
