AMCCA WEEKEND AWAY AT ALBURY FRIDAY 18TH MAY TO SUNDAY 20TH MAY MUSCLE CARS ON THE MURRAY

If you did not attend last years event make sure you get in early this year and book.

Don't forget to mention the AMCCA when making your booking

Our weekend away to Albury wth the 60's Muscle car club from Victoria & the American car club from the ACT. this weekend was very popular last year with over 60 cars turning up. this is a action packed weekend, the first meeting place is Uncle Leo's servo at the Cross Rds on the Hume Hwy at 9.15 am leaving at 9.30 am meeting with the southern guys at Pheasants nest servo then cruising down to Albury stopping for lunch at a Maccas then cruising into Albury & meeting all the other guys from the other car clubs. The friday night consists of a buffet at the motel with entertainment, Saturday morning after a fabulous breakfast a car display for a couple of hours to raise money for the local SES then onto a fantastic cruise out of town back to the motel refresh the a shuttle bus will pick all of us & take us out to the Wool Shed for a great nights entertainment, Sunday morning after breeky a short scenic cruise. Then saying good bye to everyone & heading home. Ours too....phone through to reserve yours.....the Siesta's website shows no rooms available but the Resort is holding the rooms for the car club members so you have to phone through to book......:)

We booked ours not long after last years trip & then called to confirm the booking & they had lost it so we were glad we checked

Just an update, this year we have a new cruise set up which sounds even better than last years, on the friday night we have a muso coming in to entertain us with the Buffet. Have got a price on the shirts & caps it is $35 for both we need to know your shirt size & if ordering them you must pay before we leave on the trip. Don't forget if you to come along for this great weekend you must phone & book at the Siesta Motel phone # is  6025 4555 & mention the Muscle car weekend for your discount.

I received a phone call from Peter Macarthur in regard to the trip home from Albury.
Peter is after expressions of interest in an alternative route home with an overnight stay in Thredbo on the Sunday night to break up the trip. The proposed route will be along the Murray Valley Hwy through Tallangatta then down the Alpine way through Khancoban , Mt Kosciuszko then stop over night in the Thredbo Hotel . Monday continue home along the Alpine way threw Kosciuszko National, Park Jindabyne and home.
Anyone interested in travelling home via this route please contact Peter on 0407937612 or you can catch up with him over the weekend in Albury

I have just spoke to Steve from the motel he has got all the cruisers for the saturday & Sunday morning sorted out I will post up the itinerary early next week also if you want a shirt & cap we need to know the size the cost is $35 for both.

:hello: this should be better than last years event in Albury here is the itinerary.
Friday morning meeting places.
(1) Uncle Leo's servo on the Hume Highway Crossroads meeting at 8.45.am leaving at 9am cruising down the freeway & meeting the Southern guys at Pheasants Neat servo around 9.15 am & leaving there at 9.30 am.
Lunch & refuel at the big Maccas Yass. Then head down to Albury arriving around 3.30pm then the fun begins.

Friday 18th.
Friday afternoon meet everyone from the ACT & Victoria clubs the Friday night dinner (which is free of charge) will be the same as last years a Buffet & we will have a singer to entertain us.

Saturday 19th.
  After breakfast we will be leaving the Siesta Motel & putting on another display for the SES at that park.

     Then at a 11am we are heading of to what will be a great cruise to Corryong cruising up by the Hume Lake having lunch at the many cafes or hotel then cruising home via Tallangatta with it's great scenic drive we should cover around 250 K's today.

          Saturday night where we will have dinner at the wool shed again being picked up by bus & returned to the Motel by bus.

      Sunday 20th. After Breakfast a short cruise to Yackanddandah which is a small rural town with country markets & old ware stores the Ladies will love this place & after a look around we can say good bye to everyone & head home. Some people are going home via the snowy mountains & getting home on the monday it is your choice what you do.

If you haven't booked yet & want to come along you need to call the Siesta Motel on 02 6025 4555 & mention the American Muscle Car weekend for your discount.

the Hume is better than it was last year ,the only town you have to go through is Holbrook ,make sure you keep the cars fueled up and have fun
beware ANY roadworks had a trip to Wollongong last weekend and noticed on a few occasions that mr police man was there with a camera so make sure you drop to 80kph

All ready Joe - Fixed annoying oil leaks, tanks full with 98, speed limiter set to 110, dusted off the biggles goggles and packed the thermals.
Cruising in  American muscle what more could one want? Just thought probably need a fuel card with no limit.

We all made it there and back safe, no issues with any of the cars. The numbers were down on the NSW side but the Victorians made up for that having more members come than last year. Friday night we had dinner at motel, thanks to Shannons for their contribution for the night. We had entertainment not only from the musican but also a club member who actually shocked a few people with his talent for singing.
Saturday we headed off on our 250k trip, the country side was absolutley beautiful, we stopped off at the pub for lunch and then headed back to the motel to get ready for the night at the Woolshed, thank you to Steve (Seista Motor Inn) for organising our booking and the buses to and from the venue.
After brekky on Sunday the NSW and ACT members headed back and we stopped off at Holbrook for a coffee and look at the car show which was on in the park.

The numbers may have been down but that didn't stop us from having fun and we look forward to next year, the Victorians have some good ideas and are going to have them in place so next year is going to bigger and better than ever.

The forum has been dead all weekend the only interest seems to be from the spammers they out numbered the members by 7 to 0 maybe we should discuss this problem at the next meeting and try to get things back on track.

Interesting story or so  I thought. Apparently the new red camaro was sent to Australia for suspension evaluation and when completed the
car has to be crushed :cry:
What a great weekend, met some very interesting people and a great turn up from the Canberra club and especially the 60,s Victorian
club. They had some really nice cars. NSW was down on numbers from last year but hopefully we can improve for next year. I,ll be
there if at all possible.
Steve from Siesta did fantatic job with the runs. Great drives especially the Saturday cruise with nice windy road and good road surface.
Also cost for accomodation and breakfast was more than reasonable - thanks Steve.

Looking forward to next year. A little advice if karaoki is on again don,t bother practicing as you will have little chance of getting the mike.
