Technically speaking,
It's not a good idea, because your insurance won't cover you if something were to go wrong. By rights you need a special permit/ license to do so.
However, my understanding is - it OK to do it, if you personally know the person you are doing it for an no money changes hands.
That's pretty much the lawful way in any case -
I have done a few and frankly their more trouble then they are worth ...

I have looked into it a little because I will be doing weddings soon with my Vette and a soon to be delivered .........?
If its a 1 off or 2 off and you aren't getting paided for it then you are ok, but if you are doing it as a business you have to rego your car as a commercial vehicle and also get insurance to cover you for commercial use. Insurance and rego cost a little more but worth it if you think you will get regular work! You don't need a special permit!!! Unless you get HC plates which cost mega bucks! But to do weddings formats etc you don't have to get the HC plates!
