Not sure if this has been posted before, so apologies if it has.
Spotted on the CMC website;
Classic Vehicle Scheme (CVS) for conditional registration, covering modified vehicles will go LIVE on Monday 19th December, 2016 (http://www.councilofmotorclubs.org.au/images/ACMC/CVS-Release01-12-16.pdf)
This has been in the melting pot for quite a while, and finally made it through.

I noticed this about a week ago and was wondering how this would work with our club?
In our "Constitution For The Use Of Historic Vehicles", clause 1.2 reads...
"Vehicles must be as close to original condition as possible with NO alterations except for safety features such as right hand drive conversions, seat belts and turn indictors (sic) or period accessories and options, if desired".
What are people's thoughts? Does the committee have a view on this?

That clause 1.2 is still valid for the original Conditional Rego for standard vehicles.
This new version, for modified vehicles, is independent of the original system, and might require an amendment to the Constitution to accommodate it if the club were to participate in it.

I want to see the details, I dont trust the Government, The historic plates are fantastic BUT Government hates us 'hoons' so I will wait until its been around for a year! All it needs is a change of government or a minister that hates cars and it will be a shambles!

The committee will discuss at our next calendar meeting next month and we will advise thereafter.
Furthermore the CMC is holding a forum on 21 January which will be attended by a couple of committee members.
Any information obtained from the forum will be passed onto our members via this forum, email or at our next meeting on 31 January 2017.
:thank: Vanessa

I agree big brother has an agender that is not for the benefit of the custom car owner
