Street legal. Either Kawasaki or Honda motorcycle engines for  power, and retired vintage bumper car bodies - transformed into the most  awesome form of mini-cars
:shades:

There's seven of these little monsters floating around   California , and they're all the creation of one man, Tom Wright, a  gyro-gear loose builder on the outskirts of San Diego who figured the  leftovers of the Long Beach Pike amusement park needed a more dignified  end than the trash heap.  They were originally powered by Harley  engines but rattled like heck and Tom replace them with Honda or Kawasaki  750's... and a couple have been 'measured' [not run at] theoretically as  capable of 160 MPH which is terrifyingly fast in machines with such a  short wheelbase.  Doesn't mean we would totally rock one should the  opportunity present itself.  In fact, we now have only one burning  desire, to see these things running a go kart track with a clown in the  drivers seat.

You only need two tools in life - WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and should, use the WD-40. If it shouldn't move and does, use the Duct Tape.

I want one.  Have you placed an order Peter?

Warning - warning!! Fun Police Alert!!

You can't be out enjoying yourself in cars like that - what will right minded people think!!

Those irresponsible people should all be driving a Prius - slowly!

I feel sorry for their parents, where did they go wrong.

When we were in the US we saw these at 'Cruisin on Grand' in Escondido (near San Diego) its on every Fri or Sat night during summer months and is worth attending if in the LA area. I actually have 2 dodgems at the moment....one is from Sydney Luna Park and I have a mate who is selling me another to match. I had similar idea of mounting on a quad bike / gokart type frame but will be a future project. Have attached my pics i took. I like some of the number plate names.
