Funny bugger
Force of habbit.  Goes back to my old Harley days.  Actually it doesn't take much, they are stainless steel.

:hijacked: So any updates on the poor little stang Joel?

Joe I found a full exploded diagram of my carby and so today I fully rebuilt it. Carby works like a charm now but still doesn't start. After pulling my hair out this arvo I had a look at the electrical and found it has a small spark and sometimes nothing at all.

I have left it for now as I think it's about beer o'clock :drink:

Will have a look at the electrical tomorrow and will let you know how I go

If the coil has FoMoCo stamped on it, it's probably time to get a new one.

When I took delivery of the barge in 2002, it had a Delco coil that had exactly the same shade of faded Pontiac blue engine enamel as the rest of the engine - I figured 30 years was long enough for any coil.  I replaced it, even though it still worked fine.  I've kept it, just in case.

hahaha thanks mate!

If it was the original one it most likely would still be running strong but since it's a replacement it's failed and needs to be replaced.

Should be picking up a new coil tomorrow and will take her for a spin sometime tomorrow evening :fingers:
