Last Tuesday week (19th of March) marked the 12th anniversary of my taking delivery of the barge and the commencement of it taking a beating from me as my daily driver.

It also marked the FIRST time since I've had the car that it broke down on the side of the road, requiring me to get it towed .

It was actually a simple repair.  The module in the HEI dizzy decided it had enough, so I just replaced it when the car came home and cooled off.  As I did have a spare module in the glove box (I actually have 2 spare modules), technically, I could've repaired it on site, however, I was on an expressway and safety was an issue.  Also, to get easy access to the dizzy, I have to remover both of the LPG converters, which are really hot and I tend not to like getting burnt so much.

I was hoping that my 12 years of ownership would coincide with me ticking over 200,000 miles in the car, but that wasn't to be.  I still have about 1200 miles to go.  It'll be done before easter...

As you know, I've fitted one.  The original engine came out at Christmas 2010.  I've put 65,000 miles on the new one after the original (which still ran) had traveled 233,500 miles.

Hey Chris, you should try owning a car that you can actually drive - they're a lot of fun...
