It was their biggest ever Queanbeyan Swap meet.. starting Saturday and carrying over to Sunday.. and the combo of the Ford Day & American Nationals swelled the grounds .. also.. the bigger sponsors with their trailers.. the Shannons trailer...the sound stage set up .. the Health Checks for men run by the Greater Southern Area Health Service was a REALLY spot on thing to bring in .. its done in the U.S.A' a lot.. where they have the same problems domestically of blokes not taking health seriously .. often with crook outcomes..but they do in the US often do bowel tests.. not something you wake up for on a sunday looking forwards too.... but the ACT event was all staffed by 18 student doctors... all for no cost to the "patient".......
Entry cost of $3.. ensured families did not get guttered and encouraged car guys to roll up rather then high priced entry etc.
For a regional event.. your gotta give them 10 out of 10 this year.

I'm delighted to hear it!  The organiser did say there were going to be lots of improvements oriented around satisfying and growing the crowds, looks like he hit the mark.  I'll definitely be going next year!:fingers:

I didn't realise that there was a check up tent there.
I would have went in.

I probably walked straight past it.

It was a great show and being out of Sydney....there was a lot of cars that I hadn't seen before. It was refreshing.

And yes...$3 entry was great aswell.  Saw plenty of families there.

Swap meet was good.
Got a couple of '67 GTO models. I always said I don't want to start collecting model cars...because I have seen it  turn into an obsession....but I think only buying cars I have will be alright. we will see.
Fi bought a 1960's picnic set in it's own case.
She missed out on picking up the gestetner. I don't know how much is was but at least she knows the name of it now...  Thanks Hev!

Greg the check up tent was only about 40 foot long, white in colour and you had to veer left as we drove into the showground to avoid it,then the people doing the testing had bright orange overalls on :banghead::banghead::banghead:

And you hold a truck licence you dill.:thanks:

I would firstly like to  thank Dave and Ellen for the use  of their trailer    :fantastic:  They had no hesitation to take the cuda off and hand over the keys for the bus, trailer and covvette.
Also everyone that helped push it up the hill and ramps, and Matt and Leanne for picking up a new set of points (this wouldn't have happened if i was using a procomp dissy).
Apart from this small drama we had a great weekend again :agree:
Les we still need your co card they will be in  touch. lol
Thanks for organising this again  :exact:

Cheers Mal

LOL... I thought that was the tent Dave was talking about it.
I even checked out one of the girls as I walked by yesterday...but didn't know what it was at that time.

You don't need to be too observant to have a truck license!:kick:

Top weekend away.....think they need to have it away from Floriade time....in the evening there were people lined up for 100's of metres to check out plants and accommodation prices rise. I think what they arrange is fantastic with trade stands and stuff to look at ....music etc....need to get there earlier on Saturday next year to get around swap meet....thanks guys for making it a great weekend and Blake really enjoyed the company too...
