I just received my green slip renewal from AAMI for the Z28 stating it was now $843! (Was $673 last time?) I rang them and they said it was due to a new Govt fee on older vehicles? I called GIO who said they were unaware of any new fees & I signed up with them for $598! Lesson, ring up before you pay up!

Easiest thing to do is go online and compare prices.
There are usually leaflets in the rego renewal envelope with details for green slip comparisons as well.

I check mine every time, and its crazy how/why they change each year.

I've found the same thing happen to me last year, with the price increase, but no real reasonable explanation.

I get the sense that they do this from time to time because most people renew without question.

Insurance companies are winners by default, consumers have to be vigilant...

My Pontiac is due for rego soon, not looking forward to it. Full comprehensive is super cheap though... happy with that!

Yes.. they do it every single year.. figure 70% will just pay up . too busy or too stupid to read past the marketing hype that often proceeds the price.

Try this when its due each time and just switch.

Just got my rego renewal today.  I had a look on the green slip calculator.  The cheapest quote was $443 for 12 months...
