Not even the wheel bolt pattern is the same as Chevy - in full size cars.

Whereas, Mustangs are actually Ford Falcons under the skin.  

BTW, if you're out at a car run one night and you're a bit bored, get the party started by telling a Cadillac guy that his car is just the same as a Chevy.
